Summertime is often when we remember to use sunscreen and other skin protection, but really, we should take precautions year round--even here in the cloudy Pacific Northwest!
Heart-rate zones are one of the easiest ways to make sure your workouts are helping you reach your goals. Your heart rate tells how hard your body is working during exercise.
We divide exercise intensity into 5 zones, from easier effort to all-out effort. Each zone challenges your body in a different way and can help improve things like endurance, heart health, energy, recovery, speed, and overall fitness.
One important thing to remember: heart-rate zones are not one-size-fits-all. Age, medications, fitness level, lifestyle, and health conditions can all affect what zones are appropriate for you.
So, what distinguishes the zones? Click here to learn more and to get our downloadable guide on the 5 Heart Rate Zones.
Seattle will host several FIFA World Cup matches between June 15 and July 6, bringing increased travel, traffic, and activity throughout the region. Patients and visitors should plan for heavier traffic and additional travel time, particularly on match days and during large public events.
Valley Medical Center will remain fully operational throughout the tournament, and is working closely with regional healthcare and emergency management partners to support safe, coordinated care. Check out our World Cup patient and visitor resource page.
